What makes Evo Rush stand out?

Evo Rush is a 3D racing game where your car grows up on the road. Every level starts in a rusty Junk Kart with mismatched wheels and a smoking engine. Your car drives itself, and all you do is steer. Every gear you drive over adds HP, and as the HP climbs the car evolves before your eyes: the kart turns into a City Mini, then a Sport GT with racing stripes, a black-and-yellow Supercar with a giant wing, and finally a Monster truck on huge gold wheels. Along the way you meet gates with two doors: one might say +20 or ×2, the other −8 or ÷2, and the one you drive through changes your HP at once. Pass a hazard close without touching it and you score a Near Miss, which fills your Nitro gauge; fill it and the car blasts forward, smashing everything in its way. At the end of the road ten brick walls wait, each worth a bigger multiplier, and you ram through as many as your HP can pay for. Evo Rush has no end: there is always another level.

Game Rules

The car never stops, so the only choice is where to be on the road. Collect gears, choose a door at each gate and keep away from the hazards: traffic cones, barriers with a single gap, loose tyres rolling across the road, spinning boom barriers, swinging wrecking balls, oil slicks that drain your HP every moment you drive on them, potholes that swallow half your HP, and narrow road works. A crash knocks about a third of your HP off. If your HP runs out, the car is wrecked and the run is over. Four Near Misses, or gold turbo gears, fill the Nitro gauge: for a few seconds the car is faster, jumps potholes, ignores oil and sends anything it touches flying off the road. At the finish every wall costs the same HP to break and carries a multiplier from ×1.2 to ×5, so the last wall you break decides what the level pays. Every fifth level is a boss level: longer, harder and worth double. Each level is the same course every time you play it, so a tricky stretch can be learned.

Step-by-step to play Evo Rush:

1. Tap the screen, or press Space, Enter or a direction key on the menu to start driving.
2. On a phone or with a mouse, hold and drag left and right to steer. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or A and D.
3. Drive over gears to add HP and watch your car evolve.
4. At each gate, read both doors and steer through the better one.
5. Dodge the cones, tyres, barriers, wrecking balls, oil and potholes. Pass them close for a Near Miss and fill your Nitro.
6. At the finish your car rams the bonus walls by itself. Collect the coins you earned and spend them on Start HP and Income upgrades before the next level.

Tips for mastering Evo Rush:

- Look at the gate before you look at the gears. A ×2 door is worth more than any row of gears in front of it.
- A bad gate always has a way out: if both doors are bad, one of them is ÷2, and halving rounds up, so it can never wreck the car by itself.
- Near Misses are free Nitro. Skim past cones and barriers instead of giving them a wide berth, and save the gold turbo gears for when the gauge is almost full.
- On Nitro you can drive straight through anything, so use it to take the gate you could not reach.
- Wrecking balls only hit in the middle of their swing, so the edges of the road stay clear.
- Keep off the oil. It does not stop you, but it drains your HP point by point.
- Buy Income early. It multiplies the pay of every level after it, while Start HP only helps at the start of a run.
